Privacy Policy
Last updated 16 September 2026.
FIND:HOME helps people in New South Wales sell a home themselves. To do that we handle personal information: yours, and sometimes other people's (a buyer who writes to you, a solicitor you name). This policy says what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in how we handle personal information.
Who we are
FIND:HOME is operated by FIND:HOME Pty Ltd (ABN 47 679 030 230), Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. We are a software and document platform. We are not a real estate agency, and we are not a law firm: the solicitor who finalises your contract (your own, or Wainwright Legal if you choose them) is engaged by you and handles your information under their own policies.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name and email address, and the basic profile Google shares when you sign in with Google. We do not receive your Google password.
- Your contract answers. Everything the survey asks to prepare a Contract for the Sale and Purchase of Land: the property, your name and details as vendor (including your date of birth where the form requires it), co-vendors, your solicitor, any agent, the inclusions and conditions of sale, and the documents you upload. We ask only what the contract and the prescribed documents need.
- Payment details. Payments are taken by Stripe. We receive the amount, the last four digits of the card and the outcome. We never see or store your full card number.
- Listing content. The photos, description, price guide, address and contact details you choose to publish, and who you invite to a private listing.
- Messages and bookings. Enquiries between buyers and sellers, notes with your solicitor, support messages, inspection requests (a buyer's name, email, phone number and the times they ask for) and the emails we send about them.
- Buyer details. When a buyer fills in their side of a contract through a link you send them, we collect what the contract needs from them, for that contract.
- Buyer profiles. If you set up a buyer profile: the areas, budget, size, property type, timeframe and finance position you enter, and your own words for sellers. Sellers see these against a code, never your name or contact details. If you apply for Verified Buyer, the finance evidence you upload is seen only by FIND:HOME staff, used only to decide the badge, and deleted as soon as the decision is made.
- Leads and the calculator. If you ask us to email you, we keep your email address, your name if you give it, the suburb or postcode, and which ad or page you came from. The commission calculator records the postcode, price and property type you enter, and anything you tell us an agent quoted you, so that our figures get more accurate; an email address is attached only if you ask for the PDF.
- Technical data. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the cookies described in the Cookie Policy.
Why we use it
- To prepare your contract and the prescribed documents, and to order those documents from the registry through InfoTrack.
- To take payment, issue refunds, and keep the records the tax law requires.
- To publish your listing to the people you choose (the public portal, or people you invite), and to pass a buyer's message or inspection request to you and your reply back to them.
- To send the emails the service needs: confirmations, replies, reminders, and the document or report you asked for.
- To let your solicitor review and finalise the contract inside the platform, when you send it to them.
- To measure how the site and our advertising perform (Google Analytics 4 and Meta), so we spend less on ads and more on the product. You can turn this off on the Cookie Policy page.
- To keep the platform secure, prevent fraud and misuse, and meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not send marketing email unless you have ticked the box asking for it, and every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Only the providers needed to run the service, and only what each needs:
- InfoTrack (registry searches and prescribed documents): the property and vendor details the search requires.
- Stripe (payments) and Resend (email delivery).
- Amazon Web Services in Sydney (document storage), Neon in Sydney (database), Vercel (the website) and Render (document generation).
- Google (sign-in, address lookup and maps, fonts, Analytics) and Meta (advertising measurement), for the purposes above.
- Your solicitor, when you send them the contract, and the other party in your sale, to the extent you direct (for example, sending a buyer your contract).
- DocuSign, if and when electronic signing is used on your contract.
- Anyone we are required by law to disclose to, or where disclosure is necessary to prevent a serious threat to someone's safety.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, mainly in the United States (Vercel, Render, Stripe, Resend, Google and Meta). By using the service you acknowledge that disclosure. Your documents and database records stay in Sydney.
Cookies and tracking
The Cookie Policy lists every cookie and similar item we use, what it does and how long it lasts, and has a switch that turns analytics and advertising measurement off for your browser.
How long we keep it
- Contracts, generated documents, payments and the records around them: seven years from the last activity on the contract, which is what the tax and legal record-keeping rules expect for a property transaction.
- Listings, enquiries and inspection bookings: while the listing is live and for two years after it closes, so a dispute about a sale can be answered.
- Leads and calculator entries: two years from the last contact, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Support conversations: two years.
- Technical logs: 90 days.
You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information in it. We will, except for records we must keep by law, which we keep only for that purpose and only for as long as the law requires.
Security
Data travels encrypted (TLS) and is stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. Access inside FIND:HOME is limited to what running the service requires. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Access, correction and complaints
You can see and change most of your information yourself, on your dashboard. For anything else, or to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, contact us. We answer within 30 days.
If you think we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will try to put it right. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
The service is for adults. Vendors must be 18 or over, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top and, for a change that matters, email account holders. The current version is always at this address.
